PROCUREMENT OFFICER/BUYER
Our client, an international road construction company, is looking for an experienced procurement Officer/Buyer to be based in Dar es Salaam. The desired candidate should have vast knowledge and experience in procurement in construction, rail works and civil works.

Responsibilities

• To procure materials and subcontract in timely manner within approved budgeted cost.
• Maintain and implement construction proforma / budget for each project
• Negotiate pricing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
• Create scopes of work, meet subcontractors and suppliers on-site as necessary
• Issue purchase orders for procurement and expedition of materials and equipment for jobs
• Ensure compliance to project budgets and provide analysis of deviations
• Ensure accurate takeoffs to ensure budgets are accurate
• Maintain subcontractor and supplier insurance policies
• Establish new relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adequate resources for all projects and to continually improve pricing and quality of work
• Assist in maintaining company quality control program
• Leverage technology, safety measures, and information sharing to increase productivity and profitability
• Assist in settling invoice or contract disputes
• Forecast upcoming demand 

Qualifications

Degree in Procurement or Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
Excellent computer skills especially Exel and Outlook.
Very fluent in English.
Procurement/Buyer experience in construction, railway works, civil works.
Good knowledge of SAP system.
